Tuscany for the Diaspora: The Indian Wedding, Italian Light

A baraat through a Tuscan village square is a thing this world needs more of. The how, the cost, the one warning.
A baraat through a Tuscan village square is a thing this world needs more of.
The diaspora has been marrying in Italy for years, but the new wave of celebrations is different: fully Indian, unapologetically so, set against cypress trees and fourteenth century stone.
Why It Works
Italy and India share a wedding philosophy. Long meals, loud families, elders who must be fed first, and a belief that a celebration is measured in hours, not minutes.
The practicalities are kinder than expected. Indian caterers now operate out of Florence and Siena. Mehndi artists fly in from London. Villa properties have learned what a sangeet needs: space, flexible volume limits, and a kitchen that can handle forty kilos of marination.

The One Warning
Italian venues run on Italian time, and Indian vendors run on Indian hustle. Hire a planner fluent in both. That single hire is the whole game.
